Punjabi Samosa




Samosa are all time favorite for Indians. We can have it as side dish or a main dish. With chutney or with potato curry. Everything goes with it. Samosa can be made in different style, so lets try the Punjabi style Samosa.😋

Ingredients

  • Boil Potato- 2 1/2 Big size
  • Boil Peas- 1/2 cup
  • Flour- 500 gm
  • Cumin Seeds- 1 Tsp
  • Ajwain - 1 Tsp
  • Fennel Seeds- 1 Tsp
  • Coriander Powder- 1 Tsp
  • Black Pepper- 1 Tsp
  • Garam Masala- 1/2 Tsp
  • Salt- As per taste
  • Amchur Powder- 1/2 Tsp
  • Kasoori Methi- 1 Tsp
  • Green Chili chopped- 4-5
  • Ginger grated- 1 Tsp
  • Oil- 200 Ml

Directions

Step 1

Take a medium size bowl, pour flour add oil, ajwain & salt. With the help of water knead it to a soft dough. Cover it & let it rest for 20-30 min. 

Step 2

For Stuffing-
In a wok, pour 2 Tbsp oil add cumin, fennel, ginger, green chili, fry it a little. Then add peas & saute it for 2-3 min. Then add all the remaining spices i.e black pepper, garam masala, salt, amchur powder, kasoori methi, coriander powder. Saute this for 2-3 min then add mashed potatoes & saute it for 4 -5 min then add fresh coriander leaves. Set it aside for 10-15 min to cool down.

Step 3

In a bowl, take 1 Tbsp flour & add 4-5 Tbsp water, make it runny liquid. Then take small portion of dough and roll it with help of flour. Cut it into 2 half, take one & fold it & seal it with help of flour-water mixture, then fill the stuffing in it. Then again with help of flour-water mixture close the open ends. It will become in triangle shape. Repeat the same process for the rest dough & mixture.


Step 4

Heat oil for frying & once all samosa are ready deep fry it in medium flame until it turns to golden brown. Serve it with green chutney or potato curry.
